About 150 of us got arrested at a peace rally back in the early 70s. It was on the Statehouse steps in Topeka. The charge -- disturbing the peace. Anyway, the Capitol Police didn't have enough room to house us all, so they started walking us all over to the Shawnee County Courthouse. By the time we got there, a lawyer had been called. Since we were on the grounds and arrested before 10 PM and there was no mayhem (It was a silent vigil), the lawyer argued that we weren't disturbing anything at all. Arrests were thrown out, everybody went to a local bar and we had a good laugh. Years later I did find out that many of our names were given to the FBI. BTW, the lawyer--Fred Phelps, Sr.
