He has a $20 million cap figure this year so lets just assume you want to knock that down to $8 million. So you convert it (any number of ways) to kick $12 million of it down the road. Then you add in your 3 year/$80 million extension. So now you're looking at 3 years to fit $80 million in cap space in PLUS the $12 million you pushed off.
You want 3 seasons that AVERAGE a $31 million/season cap hit starting in 2023 when he's 29 yrs old?

I don’t think that’s as big of a concern as most think, currently.
This salary cap is going to go NUTS over the next 3 years. WRs are already going to get deals this FA that approach 30m and Tyreek is as valuable as any non QB in football.
Also, when I say a “3 year extension” those deals are always written as 5 year deals and ripped up after 3, to keep cap space spread out better. As usual, I probably should have fully clarified before submitting the post. I usually sneak a few minutes here and there to post so I miss posting details at times.
