I don't like OBJ in this offense, I've been vocal about that.
For example, I've said before that if Seattle doesn't move up for a QB I think giving them 30 and OBJ for 9 to get Cross would be a nice move IMO. Now, that's not for everyone either. It still leaves the team in dire need of help defensively and takes away ammunition to do that but I do think it helps the team with the long-term financial at the position and a guy that fits the team's passing mentality much, much better.

This scenario doesn't seem
that far fetched to be honest.
Flipping OBJ and either 29 or 30 for a top 12 pick (and some additional capital most likely) and taking either Ewkonu or Cross (Hard to envision Neal being there) - effectively giving the Chiefs another 4 or 5 years before it's time to pay +$140 mil in top LT money again.
Main issue with this, however, is Reid. I don't see him entrusting Mahomes' blindside to a rookie. That is UNLESS he and Veach are
both enamored with one of the top OT's and feel he could step in and be that guy.
Again, this would anger most who are understandably tunnel-focused on the Chiefs going some combo of defense/WR/trade down on Day-1.
However, this is EXACTLY the type of stuff that emerges in the days leading up to the draft as a rumor and/or happens ON draft day, catching everyone off guard.
And the explanation and reasoning for it all would be exactly what we've mentioned here.
