I think that’s a pretty disingenuous framing of what he was trying to say. Did you actually watch the clip? I think the issue here is that Newton isn’t very articulate, and people are taking his comments the wrong way.
It’s easy to see what he was trying to say when you recognize the type of woman he was saying he
doesn’t want, as opposed to just focusing on the parts about cooking and knowing when to be quiet and let a man lead.
I honestly don’t think he’s saying that women should just up and stay in the kitchen and never question anything.
He’s talking about women that are combative at every turn and never allow the man to lead because they want their man to be “subservient”.
