Through 32 starts, he is only 273 yards and 10 TD's behind what Mahomes did in his first 32 starts. He has 7 more interceptions. And Mahomes went to a Super Bowl and won during that span, and Herbert has not been to the playoffs. So it is kind of crazy to say Herbert is off to the greatest start ever in NFL history at the QB position.
