I disagree. We are watching him reinvent his game and it’s a marvel to watch. A lot of these athletic qbs just aren’t capable of doing what he does in the pocket. At some point players hit this crossroads because Head coaches know their athleticism is sliding. Saw it with Big Ben. Seeing it big time with Russell Wilson. These guys aren’t having nearly the same successful transition to the pocket. Mahomes will now always have this in his back pocket.

The way mahomes has hesitated on some runs…. I’d bet reid is forcing mahomes to develop and not consider a bailout as an option. Stay in the pocket. Take lots of snaps under center. Come playoff time, if we need to open him up more, we can. But I suspect we’ll find that he’s become so good at this he won’t need to bail out as much as we think.
