Remove distance from the equation, you brain knows how hard to hit it , like a basketball shot use feel for the distance part.
Don’t be afraid to miss , lol oh could hit a perfect putt and still miss , imperfections in the grass etc.. when you miss don’t blame your self a missed putt is never your fault you had some bad luck.

Most 3 putts are caused by poor distance on your first putt. A person usually doesn't miss the line by 3 ft but does leave it short or run it by the hole that distance. The easiest 2 putt (we're talking from distance) is when you leave it by the hole for a tap in. If person keeps leaving it 3 ft from the hole or more those 2 putts are going to come harder and especially if that's where a person struggles. A person has to trust their eyes and have some natural feel to be a good putter from distance. Sometimes I'll practice putting from distance while looking at the hole instead of the ball. Sometimes I'll do it during a round and gas it in the hole from 30 ft. That's a hoot when that happens.
