It wasn’t fine. They made Garoppolo look like Rodgers for much of the game. Open receivers on every play. Allowing Jimmy G to immediately overcome two holding penalties on the same drive was embarrassing.
The defense overall has been really disappointing so far. Hopefully it’ll get better as Spags’ defenses generally do, but to be satisfied with it is to have a low standard. There’s no reason we can’t expect an above average defense, especially after the Hill trade.
