But every player at any position usually needs at least a few plays to get into a rhythm against a good defense. How many times have we see the offense start the game with an awful, awkward-looking series, only to begin shredding them by the 2nd or 3rd drive?

About as often as we've seen Andy's scripted 15 plays vivisect the opposition. Didn't we set a record for opening drive touchdowns last year or the year prior?
If you want more opportunities, do something with the ones you get.
