The only think I can figure is that he's keying on #90 there and sees him flash inside so he's trying to bounce around him.

But that's my point - it's 2nd and 1, man. You need 1 yard and you have him at half a man. Even if he IS flashing inside Smith there, just hit him and drive through for the 1st down.
