I think that's why he is so good, though. He is
capable of those throws even on days where he's not seeing the field or gets flummoxed by whatever the D is doing for some reason.
When any QB of our past had an off day, a 15/29 day for 129 yards was just the sort of the ride we were in for. Those three throws just weren't happening.
Another encouraging thing, at least for me, was that in 2021 these days felt accompanied by 2 or so bad picks of him forcing it downfield. The Denver game is a recent example of this, actually. He flat out missed coverages in the second half and forced the ball into the windows anyway. Against SEA he was quick to throw the ball away, and as frustrating as it was to watch, the defense is boosted immensely when they weren't constantly besieged by short fields.
