Mahomes making it work doesn’t make it a long term strategy. They still drop way too many passes. We still have stalled moments and the common theme is that our WRs can’t get open. They still force mahomes to do the impossible because our WRs aren’t doing the simple. And sorry but we need to get Mvs and Watson off the field sooner vs later. And we can’t rely on kelce to draw doubles and triples as he gets up in age.
We can’t have speed guys with no size (and who have zero ball skills). A big guy like juju disappears in stretches because our speed guys are too easy to disappear. Their one dimensionality shines when we go through our slumps. You’re saying we don’t have money and yet can justify paying juju and Mvs $30m instead of a true WR1 who can do both jobs without all the disappearing acts. Why can’t we just have a decent size WR who has speed and has quality ball skills?
While I’m fine with getting a #1 in the draft I don’t want to wait a whole year for Andy Reid to develop him. And we can’t risk him busting. We have the best qb in the world and won’t get him a WR1? Maybe we can both keep our fingers crossed that Justyn Ross can be healthy enough to be that guy.
