You can't take something away from somebody and say "Oh welp, you should have done something a week ago. We didn't tell you that... you should have just known." All of these other solutions are reeruned and ignore that the players made a choice. There's nothing homer about this.
And your idea of adding another playoff team so no team gets a bye is by far the most reeruned of them all. You can't change the playoff format in the middle of the season you butt****ing moron.
