If your boss asked if you wanted to take the rest of the week off because a coworker died (I KNOW, HE DIDN'T DIE), you wouldn't expect them to come back a week later and say, well you said you wanted to go home, so it was without pay.
If I were the Bengals or Bills, I'd be looking at the NFL to fix their shit if they really had no clue what they were doing... it doesn't seem at this point there was ever an option of "keep playing or forfeit/no contest", it was just "postpone and we'll deal with it"..... and that's on the NFL, not a consequence for either team.

Except I don't believe they weren't given an option to resume the game sometime in the past 2 days. The NFL, in their Tuesday morning release, seemed to be saying that was what they were looking at before later that day saying that was now off the table.
