This result is the NFL trying to show above anticipated empathy to try to continue to build their brand to include younger generations that value empathy above almost everything else. They probably felt that not “lessening the blow” for Buffalo would cause backlash and possibly be a deal breaker going forward for a potential generation of fans, so I understand the business decision they made.
Plus…Mahomes is better playing away from Arrowhead, anyway.
