If you can replace, say Jones and Clark's production which costs $50m this year and improve it across THREE positions, plus add a LT that's cost controlled for 5 years, then you really have to consider it.
I'm not saying this is a MUST DO, just that it's a lot more complicated than it seems at first glance IF you remove the emotional attachment to the player.

Pass rusher is the opposite
