One last time-it's called a 'zone blitz', where you send guys from an area that is unexpected, which means you have to drop other guys that you don't expect into the passing lanes to hopefully clog and confuse the QB. Nobody expects your DE to 'cover' an elite WR, they're just clogging the passing lane and there to confused the QB for a second.
When it works, you get a Sneed, Reid, or Mcduffie sack or a Watson INT in the Jacksonville game. Nobody complains when that happens. When it doesn't work, you get Karlaftis getting beat by a WR. You can't complain about one and not praise the other. It's a risky thing to do, but we can't consistently pressure with four, so it is what it is.
