Texas had an odd defensive strategy of completely taking away Wilson (they were faceguarding him and not helping off him) and letting everyone else go off. Didn't work out for them.

Kansas director of operations Fred Quartelbaum fired off an email Saturday night to Patrick Stacy, who runs a one-man scouting service that Kansas subscribes to. He asked Stacy if he could run the numbers on KU’s efficiency when the Jayhawks got a paint touch off the bounce and their efficiency based on how many ball reversals they had.
Stacy ran the numbers that night, hours after KU’s worst offensive output in conference play against Iowa State:
• Paint touch off the bounce: 55.4 scoring rate and 1.173 points per possession
• Zero ball reversals: 0.722 PPP
• One ball reversal: 0.951 PPP
• Two-plus ball reversals: 0.977
On Sunday night, Kansas coach Bill Self presented the data and gave his team a math lesson. It was really quite simple. The Jayhawks needed to get into the paint.
