It was intended to be part of KC's 'royalty' theme for it's sports teams, like Monarchs, Royals, Kings, etc.
I dunno. I find the Tomahawk chop pretty cringe. I'd rather just drop all of that stuff, it's dumb.

I can definitely understand how the chop is sketchier than Chiefs.
But I think it's cool to have a chant that gets the crowd going and a stadium chant that is unique to the team. It isn't just We Will Rock You or Seven Nation Army or whatever the latest fad is.
I heard the chop while watching the SB and you of course knew who was singing it.
That can be hard to replace...
