I'd make the lateral move. I'd ensure whoever hires me will get the QB I can work with, and I ram it up the league's pooper for the next three years and get my veritable pick of the litter among the available HC jobs.

Edit: If no one hires me, I go get the best college gig I can and destroy college football for about four-five years. Then I'd reassess.
