That, or put the retired player's name in small text on the number or somewhere. Something to pay honor to the player while still being able to use the number currently. |
I think the jersey should go back into play one year after the player's death. Are Bears fans really going to be confused or offended to see Bulldog Turner's or George McAfee's jersey number on the field?
