There had to be a threat to not play at all if tagged for the news to change to Nate Taylor not long ago about OBJ getting tagged to todays news of them not planning to use the tag on him.
If they tagged him, that ties up 20m right away. That big time would limit the teams flexibility to re-sign others and get extensions done.
Maybe a Silverback situation where they let him walk and ended up re-signing him.
