Because you can't just trot a rookie out there and expect him to play LT in the NFL with no problem?

Of course the best financial course of action is to go as cheap as possible. That's not necessarily the best overall option, though. Like Crow said, it really appears that they need to go draft AND stopgap FA. They don't really don't have a lot of realistic options.
