I love Achane. His speed really jumps out, but his contact balance and ability to break tackles and churn forward are really impressive--especially for someone his size. His speed makes him a weapon for sweeps, screens, and he's also been used as a KR a time or two.

I feel like we could even have Achane and Pacheco on the field at the same time for several downs a game. A&M lined Achane out wide. He's a good pass catcher and not bad at recognizing the blitz. He's not big, but does a decent job of getting his body in front of defenders when asked to protect the QB.

Let's face it, Pacheco is an NFL RB and, as such, will likely miss some time. It's a brutal position to play. Having a weapon to spell him and replace him if he gets dinged up is important and worth investing in. I'd rather have Achane a round or two later than Gibbs and use that earlier pick on a WR, DE/DL, or OT. Also, the difference in size of the two at the combine was just a half inch in height and 11 pounds.
