The Chiefs probably consider themselves to have starting DEs locked up for the next 2 years in Karlaftis and Omenihu, I can't see them taking a DE in the 1st round that they don't see a path to "starter" for until 3 years time, and I don't think the talent is right at the back end of the round either for what the Chiefs would want.
I see DE as more of a 3rd or 4th round, rotational guy who can develop situation.

They also openly talked about Frank Clark maybe coming back. I don't think they see it as a huge need.
