Taylor was under contract via an extension he signed in 2021 for 2022 and 2023. He wasn't under any arbitration negotiations.
Mondesi was though. They re-upped him in December to avoid arbitration then traded him to Boston for Josh Taylor.
Those guys weren't exactly guys to DFA.
