Pasquantino out for the season for shoulder surgery. It's fairly likely his best baseball is already behind him.
On the bright side, I brought up his chronic shoulder as a big cause for concern here in the Royals thread (more 2022 than 2023 but I've got posts in both on the topic) and got downvoted. So as big of an L as this is for the Royals, I actually end up looking pretty big time.

In their data, out of the 13 players to have a labrum-related shoulder surgery the writer could find, all but two had their wrc+ drop after it by a median amount of -20. So that means they were 20% worse after the surgery. For those to have non-labrum related shoulder surgery, the median drop in wrc+ was even worse at -37. Not many players can get 37% worse compared to average and still have a baseball career left.
