I mean technically Kendall Blanton has a $1 million cap hit but it's not guaranteed and he has no signing bonus. So there's a million bucks cleared without dead money.
Deon Bush could get you another million. Blake Bell, Matt Dickerson, Austin Reiter; that's $3.3 million or so. Now I believe those guys have VSB so they make about a million but they have cap hits in the $900K range. But they could be backfilled by guys like Bushman, Hailassie, Truman Jones and Mike Caliendo and you'd gain about $200K per guy once the top 51 settles out. Blanton and Bush don't have VSBs so you're talking about 300K per cut there.
So with some of these moves that could be made, we could sneak out another $1 million or so and find a little more breathing room.
It's just such a lean cap. I don't know that folks understand how well constructed our cap sheet is at the moment. The problem is that we have a $28 million hit throwing a ****ing temper tantrum at the moment.
But yeah, that's not a problem really. It's not like Jones is accounting for more than Kelce, Omenihu and both of our starting offensive tackles COMBINED or anything....
Just really a big fan of Chris Jones and his pride at the moment...

Maybe it's cap space and roster construction where Jones and his team think they have leverage? I mean, stupid, but who knows?
