Chris Jones is 29. He has one year left on his current contract. He will be 30 when he starts his next big contract. The Chiefs have supposedly offered him a 2 year extension onto the end of his current deal. If the Chiefs were to give him a new ‘long-term’ deal like he supposedly wants (4-5 years) for big money, there’s no way the Chiefs wouldn’t end up regretting that contract in a couple years. No way in the world he will play like a Top 5 DT for another 5 years. To think otherwise, is foolish.

Um, this isn't realy the case.
Aaron Donald doesn't have an injury history, and last season he wasn't plagued by injuries; he suffered a high ankle sprain and ultimately was sidelined for the rest of the season. But ankle sprains aren't long-term nagging type injuries and he should be fine now.
And last season LAR only returned 5 starters from that SB winning defense, and basically AD was out there on the DL alone when he was playing. That's why his production went down, not because of some pseudo-magical "turning 30" issue. Opposing teams simply double- or triple-teamed AD, and went 1v1 on the rookie DEs.
