I hope this will be resolved soon, but I am afraid the Chiefs will have to add a void year on a new Chris Jones contract to make the numbers work.
Example of possible contract - (Disclaimer: not saying this would be the contract)
Kansas City Chiefs DT Chris Jones (3-yr, 74.5M) AAV:$24.8M, Age 29, total guaranteed $70,000,000
2023 - $16,500,000 cap hit, 2024 - $19,500,000 cap hit, 2025 - $28,500,000 cap hit, 2026 - $10,000,000 cap hit (void year). Chiefs would pay Chris one year after he is no longer on roster.
