He's absolutely being offered a reasonable deal and there was no reason to think back in March that he wouldn't accept this (especially in light of where the Simmons/Williams deals settled).

And I say this as someone who is generally an advocate for players being paid their worth…
But Jones and his agents are being unreasonable, negotiating in bad faith, and I have no sympathy for career earnings lost or negative repercussions from it.
The Chiefs are not a team you need to play hardball with.
But Jones and his team had to try to have their cake (the big deal they want) and eat it too (stay on the Chiefs).
Choose one.
Stay with the Chiefs on a deal that IS huge and pats you like you claimed you wanted.
Or get more than Aaron Donald on your new years.
