At this point my only hope is that he feels that sitting out one game is symbolic and he’ll be back week 2 regardless.

I don’t see any chance he blinks and signs the extension though. It’s either he comes back after a week or two and we potentially let him walk at the end of the season or it’s back in week 8 and 10000% tag and trade.
