Everyone should be reading the article by Lyle Graversen in arrowhead addict.
I was one who thought we would actually do pretty well by letting him sit out until week 8. And all the reasons and advantages for that have been explained multiple times.
But that article raises a key point about the potential for division in the locker room, which has never plagued the Chiefs.
And obviously, our defence will be better with him there for a full season. Of course the price can’t be unreasonable.
All of the sophistry comparing the traditional valuation approach with the new money valuation approach doesn’t seem to advance the argument on what that reasonable amount should be. One valuation, methodology clearly favours the Chiefs. The other clearly favours Jones.
There seem to be a seem to be an increasing number of articles out there that would indicate there should be room for a deal to reached. I think that would be the safest bet to maximize our chances for another Super Bowl this year, and shouldn’t jeopardize going forward.
I don’t think things are as black and white here in terms of who is at fault as this board generally seems to have concluded, in terms of most posters, putting it all on CJ.
Let’s get this done. Let’s move on. Let’s get another Super Bowl
