Well, yeah. Did I say they didn't? I said they were probably a top-6 defense. I said they've been great so far. I'm just not willing to crown them a top-4-5 defense until they actually dominate a top-10 offense, that's actually playing at a top-10 level, that's all. I think that's fair.
Last year, when PHI was playing all those powderpuff teams, and pundits were going around saying they were the best defense in the league around mid-season, didn't we all sit here and say things like,
"they haven't played anyone yet"? Yes or no?
It's the same exact thing. Yes, the defense has played very well so far, but let's not pretend they've played 6 good offenses. They played three good offenses, and three shitastically terrible ones, all three of which couldn't field a competent QB. So, I can't weight their performances vs. the dregs of the NFL the same as I would if they'd played three top-10 offenses, instead of CHI, NYJ, and DEN.
