I'm particularly cognizant of shit like that because I really do see it as the biggest symptom of his issues with route running. He simply doesn't seem to understand that those false steps do him more harm than good.
And then you see him throw them in there for NO reason and you realize it's just part of his mechanics. That's gonna have to get beaten out of him over the off-season. It's not something he's even doing as part of some concerted plan to get space - it's just what he does.

That dude will give the nastiest jab step and head fake against man that’ll leave even CBs in the dust. Then you’ll watch him round out a hitch to fall into the soft spot of a zone and realize this dude’s football IQ is just crazy. No wasted movements.
