Dolphins likely win the AFC East and have a week 17 game at Ravens. If Ravens are winning the AFC North, that game could decide seeding depending on how Jaguars do versus Niners, Bengals, Ravens and Browns.
Anybody that thinks Chiefs win over Dolphins was about the Dolphins not being a contender does not know how good the Chiefs are.
If the AFC North is as good as the yaketty-yaks on TV are saying today. Dolphins have a real shot to be #2 seed and be the team that comes here if Chiefs are #1 seed and host AFC Championship.
Chiefs had some perfect play calls on their two TD scoring drives. Dolphins defense might take a big step forward with Jalen Ramsey and Xavien Howard returning.

They're firmly in playoff contender status. They'll make the playoffs and might win a game or two. It's not like they're a 7 seed who will have zero business being in the playoffs.
They're not upper echelon Super Bowl contender status though, and at the moment it's not particularly close.
