Had my colonoscopy at 53. Everything was fine and I have no family history of colon cancer or other issues.
I recently turned 63 and since I didn't have issues before, my insurance company sent me a home test kit. Reading the info that came with the kit they've made significant progress in identifying pre-cancer and cancer without the whole colonoscopy thing. The caveat is you should see no blood when pooping. That's a no-go on the home test kit.
