I can't really blame them though.... I think every long-suffering fanbase shares the same Joe Flacco type of delusions that all your team needs to do is make the playoffs and then anything can happen.
So, even if we don't watch every game of the 2-win season, we're right back at it when they're 10-6, because damnit, they beat the Patriots in September and that counts for something, right?
....and then you watch the Patriots for 20 years or Mahomes for many years, and I'm sure many of their fans learned how it's ****ing hard to win in the playoffs and to win every year.
Going back to even mediocrity, much less their dumpster fire this year would be ****ing rough.... spend a decade or two telling every other fan base "yeah, our regular season --- the thing you really love -- is just preseason to us" ...and then suddenly it's all you've got again, and maybe for years or decades to come. Yeah... that would ****ing suck.
