Pocket passing is still very important and that is part of the reason I would bet against Caleb Williams being a great NFL QB. If he is trying to play hero ball on a weekly basis in the NFL, he will have a tough time even being an average starter in the NFL.
He could be a literal clone of Patrick Mahomes and he isn't going to be the next Mahomes in terms of stats/winning in over 99% likelihood if he is drafted by the Chicago Bears.
I doubt the guy is as good as Mahomes since height for an NFL QB actually matters but even if he was a clone, what are the chances he gets to start off his career with players comparable to Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, Watkins, a good offensive line and Andy Reid? Are the 49ers going to trade up again to the top 1-3? Obviously, not.
Williams probably gets drafted by the Chicago Bears. That team is going to depress his numbers a bit.
