He'll get a 3rd and maybe even 4th year, but they'll be bullshit years to spread the signing bonus hit. The wrinkle here MAY be that he might not be a guy you trust to give much of a signing bonus, but you're gonna have to guarantee him money somehow to get him to sign and a signing bonus feels less dangerous than guaranteeing salary (that you'll never be able to get traded if he implodes).
So maybe something like a $16 million signing bonus spread over a 4 year deal, year 1 salary of $10 million, year 2 salary of $12 million. Cap hits of $14 and $16 million in the first two years; $8 million in dead money thereafter.
