The thing we forget about is the appeal of getting $20 million today. That's a full year of his life that he's going to be wealthier. It's a year sooner he can get started on building a big ol' house or investing in a business or whatever.
It cracks me up to think about Veach just walking up to Bolton with a suitcase full of cash and saying "Hey Nick - see this $20 million? Yours right now if you sign this contract, buddy..."
It's honestly a little surprising to me how many of these guys DON'T sign early. Because that signing bonus has to have so much appeal.

Certainly worth a shot. Gotta figure they're gonna counter anyways so maybe you start there and end at $56M.
Point is, I'll be pretty disappointed if we don't try to knock him and Creed out here come May/June. It's so much easier right now than it's gonna be.
