DALLAS, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin says the crack cocaine pipe found in his car wasn't his, but belonged to a friend he's trying to help rehabilitate.

Irvin was stopped for speeding Friday afternoon in Plano, Texas, and arrested on an outstanding warrant for speeding in Irving. A search of Irvin's vehicle uncovered the drug paraphernalia, police said.

"It's a situation that is not as it seemed," Irvin said. "I have to clean up my friends because they are around my boys. It's upsetting."

Irvin paid a fine on the speeding ticket and posted bond on the drug paraphernalia possession charge, a Class C misdemeanor that is punishable by a fine of up to $500, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram said.
