I know I'm in a minority on this, but I don't directly get caught up in athlete's private lives. But when it dominates a CP thread and/or rises to the level of a suspension, well then it is football news.
If the person working in the office next to me (not that I work in an office anymore) or the person serving me enchiladas were to get DUI for instance... Would I want them fired or suspended from their job?
No.
(Now at some point..., murder etc. Sure. But for non felonies...)
They should certainly be penalized by the legal system. Hopefully enough not to do it again. But I don't see the upside of making them unemployed on top if that.
For me, I would treat NFL players the same.
Not my heroes.
Just fantastic athletes that are fun to watch that have all the same problems everybody else does plus some additional ones peculiar to their situation.
