Forgive Tyreek? They did their due diligence on his initial situation and drafted him. They didn't have to "forgive" him. He didn't do the Chiefs any wrong when he was in college.
He then got into hot water again. I won't relitigate that (I personally think he broke his son's arm and it was totally covered up), but they similarly did their due diligence, no charges were filed, no suspension was levied, and he went on playing for the team.
Why do they need to go above and beyond whatever the NFL/legal authorities are going to levy?
