I had a similar take away. Started talking about it with some friends and big picture it is one of those weird things where maybe the way to stop an ultra modern football strategy is to use a very old way of playing football.
Like when Mizzou played Navy in that bowl game. We had a bunch of undersized guys on defense who were used to trying to cover and track down these spread offenses we had no answer for the oldest formation in football and that also kept our own high powered offense off the field.
There is not as much video of all of this as I would like but another take away is they have found an ability to allow defenders to flow, react, and swarm effectively. Quickly getting more defenders into places to overwhelm whatever the offense is trying to do.
