I've witnessed so much death in person. Hundreds. Its rarely a clean death like dying in your sleep. Most were trauma and way too young to die. I didn't see a single person, who knew they were dying or knew its coming soon ever have a religious moment. Not a one.

Didn't say a word about God etc. Not a one. They are wanting to pass on their love of a person or a family. How sorry they were for this or that. Begging us to promise to tell their loved ones. Thankfully, that was the doctors duty.

We practiced our neutral death face in a mirror so when we left the trauma room, we didn't give away that their loved one are dead. We took that seriously. We didnt want to add to their pain.
