As of this morning, the track has it just south of the mouth of Tampa Bay, which is fantastic news for Tampa and st Pete. With an expected 15' surge, it would have been devastating. They'll still get a lot of wind and rain, and there will still be flooding, just not nearly as bad as it could be.
I'm about an hour north of Tampa. They're expecting 80mph winds here, and because there's still so much debris from the last storm, that is our biggest worry.
We're hoping that the low front will weaken it to a low 3 or even a cat 2 by the time it makes landfall.
I'm glad the Chiefs won last night, that may be the last good thing to happen for me for awhile.
