Though I'm starting to realize that getting the #2 seed was fine when the top two seeds had a BYE. The BYE is more important than the home field advantage part.
Now it's paramount to be the #1 seed because only that team gets a BYE.
This season it's even worse because the Chiefs BYE week came after week 5. And they have that dumb Christmas schedule coming up. This team will need a break. Last year the pieces fell into place being healthier than the opposition in the first two playoff games and getting a weakened Miami team here in that freezing game. The first playoff game will be tougher this year with familiar opponents like Denver or LA possible.
