i love how little of a pulse these writers have on the ebbs and flow of the league. Teams fluctuate in their quality of play, but these guys get something in their head about a team in week 2 or 3 and roll with it for the rest of the season. “Oh, it’s the Panthers! They suck!”. Now, on the surface, this is correct. Yes, the Panthers suck. No one would argue this, but let’s take a more nuanced approach here.
the Panthers had won their previous two games and were clearly playing with more mojo than they were at the beginning of the year when they were utter lame ducks. Young has been building confidence, they’ve gotten some guys back on offense and their running game has started to get going a little bit. Not to mention that Canales is a young coach who’s also figuring it out, and appears to be getting it going too because there were some very well designed play on offense from the Panthers.
And I’ve said it a million times, but look around the league. This is the part of the year where upsets are plentiful and a lot of games are insanely close, regardless of the differences in quality between teams. I mean, I don’t think there was a single person seriously picking the cowboys to upset the Commanders. A result that goes completely against everything we’ve learned from the beginning of the season.
So yeah, TLDR; sports journalists are brain dead tunnel vision ass mfers
