I believe if he walks, KC will get the comp pick IF its awarded.
It could also be the other way around...in the interview DJ clearly thought he was going into a contract year and expected a big pay day until his injury and release from AZ. It wouldn't surprise me if DJ and his agent see all the negative press on our starting LTs and if he comes to KC, shows at least semi level skill, it could be looked at as DJ making a HUGE impact and thus giving him his best chance at getting a long term contract from another team. Maybe that team is KC but maybe its not. HE also gets a chance to get his ring!
